1. Is training mandatory prior to taking an exam?
You do not need to attend a COBIT 5 Foundation training course before taking the COBIT 5 Foundation exam. If you are interested in the COBIT 5 Implementation exam, you must first pass the Foundation exam and take the Implementation Course. If you are interested in the COBIT 5 Assessor exam, you must first pass the Foundation exam and take the Assessor. Exams are available through APMG’s network of public exam centers. 2. How can I take an exam?
The COBIT 5 Foundation exam can be taken through ISACA or via an Accredited Training Organization (ATO) or Accredited Trainer, as part of an accredited training course. Candidates who would prefer to self-study can take the exam through one of APMG’s public exam centers.
3. How much does it cost to take a COBIT 5 exam?
The cost of the exam is typically included in the course fee. Pricing for exams taken at a public exam center is dependent on location. To find out the cost in your region, please contact the APMG Service Desk at +44 (0)1494 452450 or [email protected].

Também é possível fazer o exame em casa, com uma taxa mais em conta de US$ 260,00, porém recomenda-se cuidado e atenção pois qualquer problema no ambiente pode levar a ter que refazer a prova ou perder o exame!
4. Are there any prerequisites for the COBIT 5 exams?
COBIT 5 Foundation exam: None
COBIT 5 Implementation exam:
- Successful completion of the COBIT 5 Foundation Exam
- Successful completion of the COBIT 5 Implementation Course
COBIT 5 Assessor exam:
- Successful completion of the COBIT 5 Foundation Exam
- Successful completion of the COBIT 5 Assessor Course
5. In what languages are the COBIT 5 exams available?
The COBIT 5 Foundation exam is currently available in English. Translations will evolve dependent on market demand.
6. How long will it take to learn the COBIT 5 material?
Training courses are generally delivered over three days. It is worth investigating with individual providers, as many will offer tailored and blended learning solutions. If you are self-studying for the exam, the amount of time required to learn the material will depend on the individual.
7. What is the structure of the COBIT 5 exams?

8. When can I expect the results of my COBIT 5 exam?
Exam results are sent by APMG directly to ATOs within 48 hours of receipt of your exam paper. Please contact the training provider for further details regarding this. Candidates who take an exam through a public center will be issued results within one week of APMG receiving the completed exam pack from the exam venue.
9. When will I receive my certificate?
Certificates are mailed two weeks after results have been released.
10. What are the pass marks for the COBIT 5 exams?
COBIT 5 Foundation exam: Candidates must achieve a score of 25/50 (50%) to pass.
COBIT 5 Implementation exam: Candidates must achieve a score of 40/80 (50%) to pass.
COBIT 5 Assessor exam: Candidates must achieve a score of 40/80 (50%) to pass
11. What are the requirements needed to become a COBIT 5 Certified Assessor?
The COBIT 5 Certified Assessor designation is proof of your achievement and capabilities.
Requirements:
- Score a passing grade on the COBIT 5 Foundation and Assessor exams
- Five or more years work experience performing process based activities
- Submission of the COBIT 5 Certified Assessor application
- Payment of the US 0 application fee
- Agree to abide by the ISACA code of Professional Ethics
Once you have submitted the required documents and fee, ISACA will review your application to confirm all the necessary requirements have been met for COBIT Certified Assessor designation.
12. How do I apply to become a COBIT 5 Certified Assessor?

13. Once a person becomes a COBIT 5 Certified Assessor, what is the preferred designation to list after one’s name?
The designation that individuals may use is COBIT Certified Assessor. There is not an acronym associated with this.
